Application Form

Should you decide to appoint RH Building Consultancy Limited then please proceed as follows.  Firstly you should be aware of the fee which we will charge to undertake your project.  If you are not familiar with our structure of fees then please call the office and we will happily provide a formal quotation – 01223 864663 / 864989.  There are two standard applications:

Full Plans Application

This means that your application will be accompanied with a full set of Architectural / Building Regulation plans and where applicable Engineering drawings and calculations.

Building Notice Application

This application is designed for minor works such as installation of a single beam or moving drainage.  In such cases full Architectural plans are not required but subject to the nature of the work we may still request additional information.

Once you have decided which application is applicable to your project then you should proceed as follows (please identify when contacting us if you application is Full Plans or Building Notice application).

Next steps

1. Complete our application form - see the link below to download (RHBC Application Form July 2018).

2. We will require an A4 1:1250 site plan showing your property outlined in red, if you received planning permission this should be readily available. If you are undertaking internal work or a loft conversion then a site plan is not required. If you do not have a site plan they can be purchased from websites such as www.streetwise.net or any other ordnance survey map source.

3. Your application must be accompanied with the relevant plan check fee or in the case of a ``Building Notice`` application the fee should be paid in full. Payment can currently be accepted by cheque or BACS transfer (bank details are on the application form).

4. Upon receipt of the above we can then submit your application for registration. Once your application is registered you must allow 5 working days before work starts on site. This is a statutory requirement, work which starts prior to the 5 day notice period could be rejected by the local authority. In such cases we will not be able to provide our service (an administration fee will apply) and the Building Control will automatically revert to the Local Authority.
